Dear Sir/Madam
Please could you spare a few minutes of your time in helping my research, by answering the following short questions.

Please "just delete to leave your answer "and fill in the "Please State" questions and email me the page back.

(Only the results will be used, the companies details will have no significance to the questionnaire)


1. Please state the country you where trained in

2. Have you lived outside the UK for the past 4 years

3. Describe the amount of people that work with trees in your company

(a) SMALL (no more than three people)
(b) MEDIUM (maximum of 12)
(c) LARGE (More than 12)

4. How often do you use ropes for the purpose of rigging at your company? (Rigging being the use of rope to pull or lower timber)

(a) Often (once a week)
(b) Sometimes (few times a month)
(c) Not so often (for the odd job)
(d) Never (Skip and begin again at question 7)

5. What training would you consider sufficient for rigging work?

6. What equipment do you have for rigging? (more than one answer possible)

(a) Pulley block
(b) Lowering/friction device (figure of eight to a Hobbs block)

7. Where did you learn to use rigging techniques?

8. If you simply use ropes fed through natural crotches to lower timber, how would you feel about changing and using pulley blocks and lowering devices?

rigging and the use of rigging eqpt is covered in unit 41,nptc not in detail but dependent on the trainer.sectional felling dismantling,
