A while back this subject was discused as to turf stress.

Will mulching (i.e. mowing) the fallen leaves increese the thinning of grasses? Esp. fine fescues and K. Blue.?

I have been doing it for about 20 years and have not seen any additional thinning. (Actually, the grass looks better now than when I arrived, but that is at least partly due to the lack of management by previous owner.) I think the dense shade and agressive root system are as much or more detrimental to a lawn than alleopathy.
