Does a stump grinder work for this kind of operation? Seems to me It would be preferable to a "ditchwitch" since it wont tear woody roots as much.

I had never thought of trying that, John. I don't see why you couldn't use a stumper. You could easily control the width by lateral movement, or cocking the disk a bit off of straight. Let us know how it works!

If I had one, but I cant jusitfy the expendituer. And I have a contractor doing my stumps.....
