I have four large ficus trees on the back of my property between my pool and a canal. People have said that the roots of these trees will damage the pool and everything around them. Could some please help me to decide what to do about them.

thanks

Dorothy, do you know which species of Ficus? Where are you located? Can you describe the tree and the situation a little more? Size of tree, distance to building, etc. This will help us get a better answer for you.

Russ

Dorthy, Ditto on what Russ just stated, and to add to that, Since we are talking Ficus and canals I'm thinking the Venice Ca. canals which is an area I am familiar with and my first thought would be absolutely not much yard space.
If the tree is a Ficus benjimina you probably don't have to much to worry about, if it is a Ficus nitida then thats a different story, so get that info back to us.
Thaanks, Ken
