I've noticed Dr. David Appel, the A&M pathologist has been busy conducting injection workshops throughout the wilt infected states
pushing NOVERTIS' label ALAMO. A&M is funding these workshops under the guise of Extension Service, but a private label looks to be the benefactor. Other systemic injectable fungistats are avialable that promise better solubility, longer residual effectiveness, cheaper costs, and more effectiveness, at least based on our work, which is full time oak wilt.
We have addressed countless sites where ALAMO
was prescribed and have tallied a very unfavorable statistical record for that chemical. Yet private industry has collared who was the most published researcher on wilt and has in in their back pocket. Beware of data that has been manipulated for the sake of sales.

Reed, the statistical evidence is that Alamo properly applied in high volume is 90% effective for up to 2 years. Careful monitoring is required along with re-treatment annually if necessary. The micro injection delivery system for Alamo put out by Novartis is as effective at much higher rates than on the llabel and is much more difficult to use. The workshops were likely put on by Rainbow Tree Care and Gene Geirling their Rep. Appel rarely if ever directly puts on any type of these events. For your alternate products to be considered, please set up your experiments with replicated random blocks with proper controls. Do Not just treat and use anecdotal evidence to judge effectiveness. Critical control and replication would be necessary for any proposed control method to be viable.
