My weeping pussywillow has this weird growth right at the base of the trunk. It looks kinda like a huge wart. I cut a bit away and it looks a little like cork on the inside. The leaves came out fine in the spring, but now they are dying very quickly. Anyone have any ideas what this is and what I can do?
