I wish to hear from anyone who has experience with this disease.
We have one large London Plane, now severely effected with leaf scorch, and a neighboring tree that has begun to show the same. This became noticeable about three or more weeks ago. The trees are in Chico, CA, and we have had some sizzling days since then.
The area may be under a deficit in irrigation since this past Spring, due to a demolition project. There are no insects visible on the London Plane trees, and powdery mildew and anthracnose were not a problem, although several Western Sycamores in the same general area have been afflicted by both those diseases.
What is the definitive test for distinguishing bacterial scorch from heat and water stress.
I am trying to get this institution to respond to the water issue, anyway.
