It's mired-up in patent application process. The developer wants the riches, the school thinks it's their gold mine, and international trade relations (re: Geo. W.'s greed) make altered gene's proprietary knowledge subjected to the U.S. Patriot Act's interpretation of terrorism and the evils of Islam. In other words, too many bucks at stake and the pharmaceutical industry (re: Ciba) doesn't want anyone touting a cheap non-toxic cure to something we'd otherwise spend big bucks trying to treat. Does that answer your question? You know me though, avirulence disease exposures are right up my alley and free treatments are my religion. So stay tuned. |
