I did a search on Profusion for "gall formation" and got 38 unique hits. I'm sure there are a lot of citations embedded in all those hits.

thanks Scott, This is what I was looking for, something with the suposed hormones produced byt the feeding pest.

Everything else I've come across that wasn't medical, just say this gall is formed by this feeding pest
