We have 3 large trees that we THINK are mountain ash. This spring the new leaves are raining down at an alarming rate. Most are green with one edge being black and slightly curled. This has not happened before. Any ideas?

American Ash (Sorbus americana) is not a large tree, and I believe Louisiana is out of its natural range.
Perhaps you have a White Ash (Fraxinus americana) or something else.
I would guess that your trees may have anthracnose or some kind of bacterial leaf blight.
Have you checked with your local tree experts or university extension to find out what this might be?

We haven't checked with anyone else yet, but will shortly. Thanks for your input.
