Interesting article in 11/25 NY Times "Circuits" section compaing Palm OS and the technically more robust Windows CE... and the platforms they run on. Final decision seems to be very personal and very applcation specific. Palm and Visor seem to wind up with effectively better speds for routine tasks. Some find the specifc abilities or color screen of the CE devices worth the higher price and slower speed. General consensus though is that the CE devices are overkill for PDA tasks and underkill for true PC tasks. Not mentioned in this article but noted elsewher is the continuing appeal of Palm (at least lower than VII) is the long runtime on AAA batteries. The CE machines all run on long re-charge time LithIon and IF you can swap out to a spare it costs >$100.
