I want to get training on chain saw repairs. Is there such thing as a "self-training" course available (i.e. video, book or web)? Thanks all for your input. Mario.

Get a good book from the library and read them all through, barnacle pap's guide is a good read. Also find where Husquvarna and Sthil are sold locally and check the deals they have, buy a Husq 350, a deal now is they are for 299.95 a good deal, the dealer should give you one with a 20" bar, a 351 is also a god bet with additional features. You can pick a sthil though. Use a saw and maintain it. Use all PPE you can get and use safely. Make sure someone shows you how to sharpen your saw. Thats it now do your own repairs, experience was my teacher, and it is the best teacher, if there is something you can't tackle safely don't do it, although sometimes we don't have a choice, just think fast, listen, and work smart not hard.
