Iv'e used several rental units in tow-behind buckets and found them rather usefull.

Ive taken them in places I wouldent want to drive a bucket truck, you can manhandle them with three people, small pickup will tow them. I used a 32 ft unit at a condo not too long ago and with outriggers down 7 cones out I didnt take up a full lane of their alley. That unit rented for 135/day or around 375/wk.

John,

Thanks for the response! How are they for speed and reliability? Can you use hydraulic attachments with them?

The units I've used are battery operated and get 8-10hrs on an overnight charge.

They weren't too bad on speed, toggle switch operations, 300lbs rate (course this means with closte and equipmwnt I can't manhandle any wood in the bucket ) no hydraulic attatchments, used a PowerPruner, and there's a 300 & 500 lifting point on the boom.

Call around to rental companies and try a few out, they price was right for around one of my billable crew hours for a days use.
