Spent the morning with a municipal client w/ their new digital camera... one of the Sony Mavica line. 10x zoom. Takes a standard 3.5 diskette which will hold 20-30 images... quite convenient, fill one then slip in another... no down time for uploading to host PC. Fairly good sized real time viewer on the back... seems WYSIWYG, but did not compare captured image to preview image. Rechargeable battery pack, they said they will be getting a 2nd so one can be in use while one charges. All in all they seem quite pleased with its performance.

Pretty good resolution output from HP color injet printer. Better output from color laser printer but 2-3x loger to print... they are not quite sure if that's a printer issue or due to the laser being on a network.

They were able to get a set of about 30 prints from disk in the time it took to go out in the field to look at a project, certainly quicker than bringing negatives in for conventional film printing.
