can anyone give me some input into sharpening square chain , Beranek doesen't say much other than using a double bevel file , which seems to mangle the corner , this chain sure seemed to cut faster than round chain , but if its too hard to sharpen whats the point.

A buddy and I were talking to the Oregon rep about that at TCI (well ok I was just sticking my $.02 in) what he said was that most people take several chains out and bench sharpen them with a grinder because it is near imposible to field sharpen a square ground properly..

I find that a semi-skip round cut works fine for bucking big stuff if you use the file to hohe the teeth every once and a while.
