I am looking for some information on productivity on soil injection using a spray rig.

What one would expect as far as production (injections per hour at a gallon per injection)?

Thanks,
Paul.

It realy depends on the rig method used and tank volume. Oh and hose length too .

It is easy to figure the variables are rate/time of injection and number of holes per 1000sqft.

Then there is rout density which is a whole other ballgame, but needs to be taken into concideration if one is looking at productivity.

(begin rant)
I'm been sold on the school that regular ferts are counter productive. If we are applying NPK on a regular basis but not the other elements that are needed for protection how can we posiibly be doing long term good for the tree?

Fertility? What does that haev to do with the growth and health of a plant for deacdes, the studies we have are for annual crops!

If we want to provide low doses of N for excelerated growth we should have redily availble minor and trace elements too. There are too many studies indicating that regular N is bad for long lived, woody perennials.

The series of articles in TCI magazine (OCT, Nov, Dec I think) this past fall pose some interesting questions regarding whether you should fertilize on a preventative basis at all. Perhaps the only good comes from treating the occasional deficiency, and these are often more of a soil treatment than a tree treatment (pH, CEC, Etc.).

Everything I was taught in 1967 when I started is either proven wrong or highly questioned. There is no way you can learn and go into the field with out participating in some sort of retraining at seminars, articles or classes and stay up to date.

Dag nabb it, It hurts when I have to think. Bob

Paul and I talked and it turns out he is looking at Merit for ash scale control for a large account.

What I forgot to ask is how he runs a tree biz and the treasury too! What a guy!
