Larry, I'm not finding a Table 11 in the 8th Edition 1992, the Field Report Guide for Trunk Formula [Form] 1995 or the the Workbook for the 8th Edition 1993. Is this table in a regional guide or form or some other document I don't have? Without your source I can't comment about it. In general, IMO, market derived data are superior to published tables. If the published unit cost is too low IMO you are justified in using market derived unit costs that are higher. The key, of course, is that cost does not necessarily equal value. That's what the depreciation adjustments are all about... if the developed unit cost is too high. The depreciation factors are not fixed from published lists either, they must reflect your professional judgment as to what deduction is necessary to reflect value or benefits. |

I don't have that one. There are 3 or 4 articles (at least) to write to treat the whole issue of Species ratings and mandated size replacments or mandated unit costs. You'll find some discussion of these topics in the older threads here. Maybe someone in Western Chapter can comment more specifically. |
