appraising limb loss
We are currently working on a tresspass situation where several trees were removed without permission. In addition a number of Douglas fir trees were climbed and pruned to provide view windows. The client whose trees were pruned had never intended to prune her trees in this manner and is seeking compensation.

We have used the trunk formula method to value the trees removed, but would like any input involving the appraisal of limb loss. This limb loss is unlikely to have significant impact on tree health, but has changed the function that that these trees offered to the client. In the clients eyes this pruning has significantly changed the natural look this wooded area offered to her property.

Any advice or comments would be apprecitated.
