Webmaster advises there have now been over 530 "hits" on this article, which is gratifying. We had anticipated that there would be early interest in something new which would fade, but interest appears constant.

But there still has been little feedback. It may be that casual visitors look at everthing once and then go away, never to return or post. Or it may be there are lots of lurkers.

I'd like to suggest that with the 9th Edition GPA due out later this month we are all going to have to re-examine plant appraisal procedures. While 9th places much less emphasis on TFM, this article was intended to frame a number of underlying appraisal issues and concepts which should be useful in understanding and implementing 9th.

Here's a tip, for those of you who don't want to read it all at once online.

Go to the article, then pull down your File menu. Select Save As. In the dialog window, select "Save as SOURCE". This will create an html version that you can read with your browser, without being connected. All the internal links will work.

You can also save it as text, without the links. And of course, you can print it to carry with you (as your chauffeur drives you to your next job).
