If you really want to produce acorns you should not fertilize and not water. Trees are programmed genetically to survive, when they are put under stress, they will produce a large seed crop in order to ensure survival of the species. Might not be real good for the tree, but that is another issue. James |

Go to the link below and follow Hardwoods to Quercus list and read about seed production. Generally, acorn production is highly variable. I don't think there is any way to guarantee higher production in a particular year. I assume you may be interested in acorns as feed? Perhaps a local agricultural advisor may have information on managing acorn forage. |
