Ralph: If you still want information on Paulownia tomentosa. Send me your address and I will send you some. If you have specific questions send those to me and I will try to answer them. I have been experimenting with Paulownia for about six years in Central Idaho. Mike

one japanese gentleman in this area of virginia and a number of tree people here know where every paulonia tree is and will pay large dollars for them, which they remove and send to japan. are there any uses besides furniture, musical instruments, toys, etc.? medicinal? anyone growing them commercially? due to their seeding tendancies, could they become the kudzu of trees?

In West Virginia, forestry dept. said they were
overplanted in Canada as a woodland crop. Martha
Stewart (marthastewart.com) had a magazine article
that they're used as wedding boxes in Japanese
culture. Japan has limited land for forestry.
Interested in planting in WV for forestry harvest
in 20 years. Would appreciate any info also.

Hi Mike,
My mother was very fond of paulonia trees and I would like to plant one as a memorial to her in Baltimore, Maryland. Any information you could send me on the purchase, planting and cultivation of this tree would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Martha (kodakgirl@rcn.com)
