Hi. I live on a small street ajacent on 2 sides by a church with a large yard. I and my husband recently remortgaged our home. and the value dropped because of rot and moss from no sun on the wood of our home. we put a large deck on about 5 years ago, I am really tired of scrubbing the mildew off every year and replacing cushions to my deck furniture cause it's all green. Our yard has no trees. but the little sapplings on the other side is hurting our fence.I love trees but they do not take care of theirs. Half are rotted and leaning towards our house. sorry to go on/ I really just need to know who to go to, the church, city, or myself. I don't know who a church belongs to for this problem. Or is it truly just an act of god? ty kathy

Hi Kathy,
I would suggest you start with the church. Talk with the pastor/minister and see if they will work with you. They might not even notice the condition of that part of the property. It's like people who live with clutter and just don't see it. Maybe something could be done for Earth Day on April 22nd with participation from the congregation. You might even volunteer to help out. That way you would have some input as to what gets done. If the church won't work with you or correct the situation, you may have to inquire with your local authroities about the condition of the property and if anything can be done to force the church to clean it up. Good luck, Newt -------------------- When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. |
