Can you say what species of tree you have? Also, what are the general site conditions where the tree is situated? What geographical region? Here is a link showing one possible tip blight (Sphaeropsis sapinea), a fungus that attacks during rainy conditions in the Spring. http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/focus/pinediseases.html You might also look into the Pine Weevil larvae or the various tip moths. http://www.ipm.uiuc.edu/landturf/insects/pine_moth/ http://bugs.osu.edu/~bugdoc/Shetlar/462/pdf/Ent462Oramentalborersbw.PDF |
