I have a squirrel problem and/or a walnut problem. Everywhere around my 100yr old English Walnut are the squirrel's discards that stain deck and furniture and are dangerous to unshoed feet. I am within city limits, so am unable to shoot the vermin, so I'm desparately looking for a method to prevent flowering or fruiting of said walnut tree. I have seen an ethylene-producing spray called Florel, and also Snipper that contains Indole–3-butyric acid (rooting hormone), delivered by Tree Tech microinjections. Neither product lists English Walnut as a target species. Please e-mail with any suggestions. Thanks for your help, Steve xprmntl@mindspring.com

Hi Steve, You didn't register so I don't know if you'll come back for an answer. You did take the time to publish your e-mail address though, so I'm thinking you aren't familiar with forums/boards. Most of us who answer questions do so on our own time and aren't paid. We generally do not respond to a personal e-mail address as one never knows for certain if their own e-mail addy could get on a spam list. With that in mind, by publishing your address for all to see, you too could end up on a spam list. It's best if you register and get e-mail notification from the forum/board that you have a response and keep your e-mail address private to the public. Kit, that's not funny or helpful to the poster. Newt -------------------- When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
