This is a situation where you should have someone knowledgeable look at the tree. It may have been wind burned during transport, or exposed to dry windy conditions after planting, or have a bacterial infestation, or something else. Are you following care recommendations from the nursery? Did they guarantee your tree? Have you asked them for help or told them of the problem? Is the tree planted so the top of the root ball is at, above, or well below the soil grade? Did you mulch the rooting area? Does your soil drain well? Do you have known problems with high salts in your soil? How deeply do you water? Did you watch the planting procedure? Were the roots visibly winding around the root ball?(potbound) How was the tree delivered?(standing up, wind-whipped, open bed?) Things can go wrong in many ways. Look for clues, and get some onsite advice. |
