I am looking for information on how to prevent missletoe from spreading to my trees and how to effectively remove it once established.

Try this. Or use a search engine for others.

I agree with that paper generally, but one control measure not mentioned after cutting it off the branch is spraying the area with pruning paint. It's faster and lower-maintenance than wrapping and just as effective.

I found this great link to what seems to be THE source of mistletoe info. You'll probab;y have to search it for specific control measures.

I have a large tree with missletoe on it. I can't get anyone to help cure my tree. Missletoe is everywhere and the leaves are getting less every year. the tree is about 18 inches in diameter. Is there something I can spray to kill the fungus or should I cut all the branches off. The Missletoe is on almost all the branches. Please help with this problem this is my only tree in my backyard. I live in Texas and the summers get to over 100 F.
