I live in the Chihuahuan Dessert (El Paso, TX). Last summer I bought a tall Cherry Laurel on discount, planted with some root strenghthener soulution and watered every day. But the fall months all the leaves had fallen off and appeared dead but continued watering. A few weeks before our extremely mild winter it began budding and grew leaves.

As we hit the spring the tree once again appears to be dead (my other trees have buds and leaves). I can break off the small branches fairly easy but there still seems to be some green. I want to replace it before it gets too hot but wondering if there may still be a cance it is still alive, and if so, what I can do chemically to save it. Any help appreciated.
I do realize I probably should have not planted

Hey Ruben,

It sounds like you certainly planted the tree at the wrong time of year. It is best to plant when the tree is dormant in the winter months. It sounds like it has been trying it's best to struggle on, but it will almost certainly be in decline. Maybe think about a new one. Sorry for bad news
