Contact a local ISA Certified Arborist for advice on this. The bark split and the leaf problem are likely to be unrelated.
Cherries often split during extrememly cold weather (‘frost cracks’), although there may be other reasons here. The leaf problem could be caused by many different things. Keep in mind that we are into the autumn season, and many leaves are starting to show the effects of fall leaf senescence. Discoloration may not be an indication of a problem. -------------------- -- Russ Carlson, RCA, BCMA |
