Hi,

I just wonder if the Podocarpus, that we can found in Burundi Afromontane,is an needleleaf tree or a broadleaf tree?

My understanding is that Podocarps are evergreen conifers, having a fleshy cone (at least that is true of the species used in the nursery trade in the USA).
The species of Podocarpus (genus) that I find associated with Burundi Afromontane (in literature) are: P nerifolius, P. parlatorei, and P. annamensis.
I don't know anything in particular about these species. There was reference to their status as threatened species, probably due to logging. I think I read that dugout boats are made from some.
