Hi Folks,

I am seeing some white growth on my cherry tree bark.

Is this some kind of fungus? What do I do about it? Is it harmful for the tree?

I am attaching some pictures.

This is the same tree which is mentioned one post below this on this forum.

Thanks,

Ranga

They are fungal brackets; surely your tree is dead! I doubt the fungus was to blame, it was probably the root damage from the development. Unless someone out there knows what the fungus is, but unless it is silver leaf, which it doesn't look like, I would say it is feeding off dead wood. Plant another one.
