This topic relates to threads in the Tools thread and some ongoing discussions about wind loads on trees and how mechanical bracing can be used to support trees.

There seems to be some specific research from Australia. Has anyone seen this material?

Haritos N & James K 1996. Tree cable loads during high winds: Part 1 - Effect of Wind Excitation. Australian Wind Engineering Society Workshop, Society AWE (ed), Proceedings Australian Wind Engineering Society Workshop, CSIRO: Australian Wind Engineering Society.

James K & Haritos N 1996. Tree cable loads during high winds: Part 2 - Results from Measurements. Australian Wind Engineering Society Workshop, Australian Wind Engineering Society (eds), Proceedings Australian Wind Engineering Society Workshop, CSIRO: Australian Wind Engineering Society.

The reserach appears to have been completed at
Burnley College, University of Melbourne, Australia:
