Wood grained background just went darker tan (from the yellow range toward the brown range). Haven't we been through this before?

Any change must have had to do with your end, and how your browser interpreted the color. There have been no changes in the files on the server (although maybe it's time for a change). Not sure why you would see it differently.

It does seem to be a one time anomoly on this end. Not at all like the earlier pattern.

Might be alcoholic flux.

Both reasonable conjectures. Since no one else has reported this event I'll assume it's limited to my location. That said our diagnostic exercise must distinguish equipment and user.

It is indeed possible that the user (me) has incipient brain decay evidenced by discoloration and that the same could be true of the equipment. But the alcoholic flux theory, while conceptually OK, is not supported by facts since I'm very careful about not drinking and driving.... once I've started I park the computer and take the keys out. Now that leaves us with the possibilities that Knothole somehow intoxicated the computer inadvertantly or that some other site is responsible.

Given that it only happened once and that there are no other symptoms or supporting facts I'm leaning towards a completely random and anomolous event. But then if there is incipient brain decay who knows what facts I've overlooked?

You have overlooked one very real possibility-

You, your computer, The Knothole, and the rest of the Universe are simply the products of my imagination, as I myself am. Since I only exist in my imagination, I am not real, and therefore have no imagination and thus do not exist at all. If I do not exist, and the known Universe exists only in my mind, which does not exist, the Universe does not exist, and neither do you. Therefore, you could not have seem a change in color, since it did not exist, even if you do suffer from brain decay (is that *Glomus species?)
