The Knothole was created in early 1997, and was one of the first open forums for arboriculture on the internet. It hardly seems like 10 years have passed already.

The Knothole has been hosted on two different ISPs. In the past few years, we’ve had some problems with spammers and web crawlers leaving their droppings. We experimented with restrictions to posting, but that seems only to have stifled the discussions. The board has been opened again to allow posting by unregistered guests. Hopefully we can keep the garbage to a minimum while we try to improve this site.

Thanks to all who have visited and contributed to The Knothole over the years. Please pass the word around that we are still open for business, and that good technical discussion and interchange of ideas is still available here.
