I am exploring the opportunities of relocating from my current position as Associate Professor of Forestry at MSU-Bottineau
in North Dakota. I have been teaching for 10 years and thoroughly enjoy the experience. My reason for moving is totally financial (ND ranks 50th in the nation in teaching salaries). I currently teach Intro to Forestry, Dendrology, Soil Science, Turfgrass Management, Basic Climbing Skills, Turf and Landscape Equipment, Sports Turf Management, Arboriculture, Tree Disorders and Urban Forest Management. I have adapted four of these courses for delivery over the Internet and have had 15 students from across the United States within the first 6 months. You may find my resume and copies of some recent articles on my webpage at http://165.234.175.12 . I would like to continue in an educational capacity of some sort. It may be teaching, consulting, providing training for workers or the public, or in the plant health care field. If the right opportunity existed, I would consider part time, full time between May 15 and August 15, while continuing my teaching career. I am not adverse to travel and have the internet connections available to telecommute between on-site visits and during the remainder of the year on an as needed basis. I can in a pinch do some production type climbing, having placed 3rd out of twenty at the ISA Prairie Chapter Jaboree as recent as 1995. I have also handled some difficult removals on a consulting basis for local tree care companies. My work experience has been in residential tree care and university grounds maintenance. If it sounds as if I could be an asset to your operation, reply by email to underwor@misu.nodak.edu , by mail at 105 Simrall, Bottineau, ND 58318, or by phone 701-228-2732 in the evenings. Respectfully, Robert Underwood |
